The short version

Instant looks, film filters, beauty tools and the photo booth process photos on your device. AI effects share your selected photo with OpenAI through our server after you allow AI photo processing. We use an anonymous account to manage credits and purchases, and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchase analytics. We don’t sell your personal data or use advertising SDKs.

Photos

Snappie opens photos you select and uses the camera when you choose to take a photo. Your gallery and edits are stored in the app; saving to Photos or sharing creates a separate copy. Before the first AI upload, we ask you to allow sharing the selected photo, including faces and other visible details, through our Supabase server with OpenAI to screen the photo and result for safety and create your edit. We also send a pseudonymous account identifier to OpenAI for abuse prevention. You can turn off AI photo sharing in Settings; this stops future uploads until you allow it again. Our generation service does not save uploaded photos or generated image files in the Supabase database or photo storage. OpenAI does not train on API inputs or outputs by default. Image-edit requests may be retained in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, with exceptions for safety investigations and legal obligations. Moderation requests are subject to OpenAI’s separate moderation data controls. Turning off sharing does not recall a request already sent.

Your account and credits

For eligible cloud users, Snappie creates a pseudonymous account without asking for your name, email address or phone number. On-device-only users do not need a new cloud account. Your self-declared age range, current country or region and guardian-permission choice are stored on your device. They are sent to Snappie with AI requests to check eligibility; they are not stored in our generation history. We do not collect your birth date or precise location through this check. Its identifier links your credit balance, subscription status, purchase records and AI generation history. Supabase stores generation times, selected styles, credit charges and refunds, and processing status, rather than the image files. This identifier is also sent to RevenueCat to connect purchases to the account.

Purchases

Apple handles App Store payments. RevenueCat receives the account identifier, purchase and subscription history, and app and device information needed to validate purchases, restore access and provide purchase analytics. We use those records to manage your subscription and credits. Snappie does not receive your full card or bank account details from Apple.

Diagnostics

RevenueCat provides purchase and subscription analytics. Our service providers also process operational information needed to run and secure their services. If you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may make crash and performance reports available to us. We use diagnostic information to investigate problems.

Deleting your data

Use Settings › Delete all my data to delete the anonymous account, credit balance and AI generation history in Supabase, request deletion of the associated RevenueCat customer record, and clear the app’s gallery and preferences on this device. RevenueCat processes customer deletion asynchronously. If deletion cannot be confirmed, Snappie reports the problem and keeps local data and the account session for a retry. Limited transaction-processing records may remain to prevent duplicate transactions, and Apple and other providers may retain records under their own requirements. Deletion does not remove copies you saved to Photos or shared elsewhere, and it does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel separately in your iPhone’s Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Uninstalling Snappie alone does not request deletion of your server account.

Children

Snappie is for ages 13 and older. Cloud AI and paid plans are available from age 16 in Australia and the United States with parent or guardian permission, and from age 18 in other supported regions. Snappie’s features require one of these plans, so younger users can’t continue past the age question. These checks use self-declarations, not verified age or location. Do not upload photos of anyone below the applicable cloud-AI minimum age. Contact us if you believe a child’s information was shared improperly.

Contact

Questions or requests: contact@snappie.app. If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We’ll update this policy if our practices change and show the new date above.
